That means you get an interface that’s easy to navigate, while still having access to more potent functionality for working with Perl/CGI scripts. DzSoft Perl Editor gives you a whole host of standard features (including syntax highlighting and a Syntax Check feature for tracking down bugs), as well as FTP uploading, server simulation, collapsible subroutines, and an integrated browser (great for seeing quick results on a script–and you can also use DzSoft’s “Run in Command Prompt” feature).

iTunes alternatives

The iPod’s dominance in the digital music player market has made Apple’s iTunes software the default choice for digital music management. For those of you who have soured on iTunes because of perceived shortcomings (bloated CPU usage is one example), it’s good to know there’s digital musical life outside of iTunes. Check out a collection of music management software alternatives.

AVG’s run at the top of the most-popular downloads chart continues, while a new exclusive release from fellow free security app Avira Avira sends it up three places to grab the No. 7 spot. The v4.3 update to Google Earth rockets up the charts 36 spots to No. 14, leading this week’s Top Movers.
